<p> This is an article about how we are learning to control lantern flies. We currently have two methods to deal with lantern flies, one is pesticides, and the other is a trap, but both of them are not good enough to stop lantern flies. We found that fungi will attack lantern flies which control them. Some animals native to our country developed a taste for these bugs. We are researching how to use insects to control lantern flies. These are some of the ways we are trying to find in order to control lantern flies.

<p> On Monday, a European spacecraft launched from the coast of Florida. The spacecraft, Hera, is set to advance to the site of an asteroid that NASA purposely blew up via another spacecraft two years prior. With Hurricane Milton imminently on its way to cause catastrophe and devastation along Florida’s gulf, Dr. Pelzer stated that he felt relieved that Hera launched without any complications. Sci-fi movies like Armageddon have, in the past, suggested that any threatening asteroid or comet would be eliminated through nuclear explosions. Scientists, however, are planning on taking another approach, one that wouldn’t produce that interesting a film. They simply plan on knocking potential asteroid or comet threats out of the way. This is a strategy known as kinetic impact deflection.

<p> In 1898, two Tsavo lions living along the Tsavo River devoured around 35 railroad workers in the span of nine months. The workers ceased their work until Colonel Patterson shot the two cats. Decades later in the 1990s, Dr. Gnoske noticed hair fragments in the cats’ cracked canine teeth. Dr. Gnoske concluded that the lions had developed a preference for human flesh as it was easier to chew with damaged teeth. Dr. Gnoske and his team of scientists focused on the DNA evidence found in the hair. This DNA proved to be sufficient enough and was relatively easy to decipher. The team compared their DNA findings with DNA of oryx, waterbuck, zebra, and giraffe which all proved to be a match. The team also discovered that modern Tsavo lions prefer Cape buffalo as opposed to its ancestors who had no hint of Cape buffalo DNA in the hair fragments found in their teeth.
